I’ll arrive within the agreed time-frame to collect your dog.
Please make sure:I can access your property & get to your dog
Your dog wears an ID-Tag
You provide a secure harness and non-extendable lead
Drop-Off
Your dog will return towel-dried and with clean(ish) paws
I’ll leave them in the house or garden, according to your instructions
Please note:
Countryside adventures sometimes come with muddy paws. While paws will be towel-dried and cleaned when needed, I cannot guarantee that dogs will return completely clean after walks. If you want me to give your dog a full wash or thorough clean, we can arrange that by booking a Care-Add-On. -
Pick-ups and drop-offs need to run efficiently so that all dogs receive their full, uninterrupted walking time and are picked-up on time.
If you require additional services such as feeding, medication, extensive cleaning or extended time at home, you’re very welcome to book an additional Pet visit or a Care Add-On.
This ensures everything is accounted for and can be done properly and without rushing.
-
No. I provide:
Natural single-protein treats
Recycled and biodegradable poo bags
If your dog has allergies, dietary requirements or prefers their favourites, you’re very welcome to provide your own.
-
Walkie Pawkies take place in and around Bovey Tracey and all other mentioned service areas.
We venture to local woodland, quiet green spaces and carefully selected areas in Dartmoor when suitable
Occasionally, we head to the beach and mix things up, so there’s a nice balance between routine and new adventures
Locations are chosen depending on weather, ground conditions and the pack
Where it best supports group dynamics or individual training goals, I may hire a secure dog field.
If you want me to take your dogs to secure fields on a regular basis, we can arrange that with Buddy or Smart-Solo/Household-Walks.
-
2–4 dogs at a maximum
Group size always depends on the dogs' individual temperaments
I walk 4 dogs at a time where it can be done safely without compromising individual attention
-
Group walks only work when the dynamic is right. To ensure waggy tails, stress-free walkies and create socialising events your dog looks forward to, I begin with:
The information you provide in the booking form
Followed by a meet & greet
This gives me a clear picture of your dog’s temperament, energy level and social skills.
From there:
I evaluate which existing pack might suit your dog best
Factor in your required time slots
Once we’ve found a slot I will decide based on your instructions, circumstances and my experience.
The dogs will:
first meet in the car, separated from each other in secure crates with solid dividers
Be taken (if needed) to a secure dog field which is neutral ground for all dogs for the first meeting
meet on- or off-lead, muzzled or unmuzzled, depending on their needs and personalities
Be introduced one-by-one or to the whole pack at once
-
My priority is your dog’s comfort and wellbeing, not filling a space in a pack:
If I feel your dog would be happier or safer in a different set-up, I will discuss this with you openly
Smart Solo Walks or Buddy Walkies are always an option, as well as trying another pack or setting up a slower socialisation process
-
Yes
We discuss recall reliability, off-lead consent and any specific commands or cues you use
Your dog is handled in a way that respects your training and maintains the standards you’ve set at home
For specific support, practice sessions or dogs with strong anxiety and reactivity, I recommend starting with Smart Solo Walkies.
-
Depends.
They will be walked off-lead if:
You confirm a reliable recall
Provide your explicit consent
It is safe and appropriate
If there is any doubt, dogs remain on lead or on a long line.
-
Unneutered dogs are welcome. However:
If behaviour becomes disruptive or unsafe within a group setting, I might suggest Smart Solo Walkies or Buddy Walkies instead
Female dogs in season cannot join Pack Walkies for the duration of their cycle, unless the pack dynamic explicitly allows for it
Please inform me beforehand when your dog is in season.
Depending on the circumstances and my availability, I might still be able to support you during that time with:
Smart Solo Walks
Household Walks
Buddy Walks
Pet Visits
Please let me know as early as possible so we can make suitable arrangements.
-
In Germany, we have a saying: The weather is only as bad as your gear. Luckily, I like investing in high quality gear.
Therefore, Walkies go ahead in most weather conditions.
However, good gear can’t guarantee safety.
Walks might be cancelled or adapted in case of:Ice
Severe mud
Severe heat
Severe storms
Serious weather warnings
Please refer to my Terms & Conditions further down on this page for Cancellation Policies.
-
Dogs travel safely in the back of my Ford Connect, which es quipped with:
Bespoke and secure Animal-Transit-Crates manufactured and fitted in Wales
Electric ventilation
AC and heating
Crates are equipped with:
Individual lights
Lockable fronts
Rear emergency escape hatches
Solid non-see-through removable dividers (meaning your dog can travel solo or with a friend)
5cm thick waterproof beds manufactured and fitted in Totnes
Fresh organic cotton towels for each dog , washed at high temperatures after every use, using eco-friendly detergent
Bed covers are wiped everyday, changed at least weekly
If your dog is not yet comfortable travelling in a crate, transport in a secure harness with seatbelt attachment may be possible.
I have an open bulkhead between the drivers cab and the back of the van, which allows me to be aware of the dogs at all times. -
For Walks & Visits a regular schedule usually works best:
It makes planning easier for everyone
Most dogs thoroughly enjoy having a familiar pack
That said, life isn’t always predictable.
If you need spontaneous support, just get in touch
If I have space and there’s a suitable pack or a free Buddy/Solo-Spot, I’ll always do my best to help you out
-
I don’t do specific Trial Walks
However, you can always cancel within the agreed 14-day-period
For all cancellation details, please refer to my Terms and Conditions at the bottom of this page

I will only reach out if necessary

I’m happy to help with basic house-sitting tasks such as:

Generally keeping an eye on things while you’re away
Having said this, I am not a professional cleaning or gardening service:
Deep cleaning at the end of the stay is not included

-
No, currently not. All Daycare-Services take place in your dog’s own home.

Duration, location and the nature of walks may be adjusted where necessary to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all dogs
Decisions will always take individual dogs into account while ensuring the safety of the whole pack
During periods of extreme heat, walks may be shortened and include less walking, with more time spent at suitable rivers, streams or in shaded areas to keep dogs cool and comfortable
During severe weather, including storms, high winds, flooding, snow or icy conditions, Walkie Pawkies reserves the right to shorten, postpone or cancel services where driving or walking is considered unsafe
Owners will be informed as soon as reasonably possible if changes to a service are necessary
-
Clients must provide safe and reliable access to their property
If access cannot be gained at the agreed time, the service may be cancelled and charged in full

If a dog causes injury to another animal or person, or damages property whilst on a walk or during a Walkie Pawkies service, the owner remains responsible for any resulting costs, claims or liabilities
Under UK law, owners remain legally responsible for their dog's behaviour at all times, including whilst the dog is in my care

Owners are asked to raise any concerns or complaints within 24 hours of the relevant service, so they can be addressed promptly and fairly
Pack Walks:
During pack walks, dogs will naturally interact, play and communicate with one another
Whilst I carefully match dogs and supervise walks at all times, minor scuffles or accidental scratches can occasionally occur as part of normal dog interaction
By allowing their dog to participate in pack walks, owners acknowledge and accept this small, natural risk

Incidents beyond my reasonable control
Owners remain responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog at all times
